Welcome

Welcome to the Charlottesville Tri Club! We bring triathletes together to train, race and live life to it's fullest in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you are new to the sport or area and don't know how to get started or where or who to train with, send us an e-mail to say hello and we will be happy to help you.

NEW for 2013!
TRAINING GROUPS

This year the Club has arranged structured two training groups for those looking to compete in the local race series

Sprint Distance

Ideal training for the Jefferson Sprint Tri & Duathlon
Especially good program for beginners.
Program starts April 6, 2013 with Coach Ken Nail.

The Coach

Ken Nail started as a novice runner in the early 1990s, and has kept at it ever since. He ran his first marathon in 1995, and qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2010 as a 50-year old. Ken started competing in triathlons in 2005, and completed his first Ironman in Wisconsin in 2012. He's been a consistent age-group athlete over the last 5 years, and has qualified to compete at the USA Triathlon Age Group championships for the last four years.

Ken has been coached by USAT Level 2 coach Debi Bernardes for the last 7 years, and plans to get his USAT Level 1 coaching license in 2013. Ken's coaching philosophy revolves around the core belief that consistency is key -- anybody who has the necessary dedication to put in the time can succeed in reaching their goals. He's looking forward to working with those who want to challenge themselves and step into the exciting world of triathlon.

Ken also takes run and triathlon clients on an individual basis. You can contact him at  kenail@yahoo.com  or find out more about him and his coaching services at  kennailcoach.blogspot.com.
